About Robert

Robert is a lifelong resident of Northern Virginia and a career business and organizational process analyst.

Robert brings a unique perspective to this campaign. Though independent of the two major parties, his community involvement and reputation for common-sense perspective have led to several appointments that enable him to understand the mechanisms of government in Prince William County.

He has served on several committees, including his current appointment by Supervisor Ruth Griggs to the county Budget Committee. Robert also is an active member of the Prince William Committee of 100 and is a graduate of the county's Community Leadership Institute. In 2002, Robert was selected to serve on the county's Road Bond Advisory Committee, and has participated in the public discussion of rapid growth in the county's population and government as the Director of the Development and Transportation Committee for the Libertarian Party of Prince William County

Robert's community service activities include volunteer elementary school tutor and teacher's aide, yearly chaperone to students traveling through Europe as part of the American Music Abroad program, and volunteer assistant for mental health patients. He served many roles as a volunteer with a Catholic Diocese of Richmond's refugee resettlement program and assists local church-sponsored community services in a variety of ways, including food banks and personal counseling.

Robert has planned and participated in clean-up projects sponsored by Virginia's Adopt-A-Highway program and the Friends of the Occoquan. He is currently working with the Prince William Conservation Alliance to develop a pilot stormwater management project to help local developers and homeowners' associations reduce waterway pollution and beautify their communities. Robert's other community activities include his participation in Neighborhood Watch, his work as a pet adoption volunteer with the LCHS, membership in the Virginia Citizens Defense League, and service as board member and past President of his homeowner's association.

Robert is an advocate for the Arts, having volunteered as a director and assistant with various high school musical and theatrical programs. He is a founding member of the recording group, Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet, which recently released its second album and appears at international music festivals, Washington's Blues Alley, and other venues. He also performs locally as a percussionist with the Capital Wind Symphony and as a bassist with various commercial groups.

Robert and his wife, Laura, a public school teacher, have lived in the Occoquan District for the last 12 years.
